No it does not, but since PCI is a legacy standard that they want to
eliminate and go completely with PCI-e. Additionally, if you want to go
with a SFF PC, usually there are two PCI-e slots but no PCI slots. AGP on
mobos died quickly when PCI-e came along, surprised PCI didn't either.

Unfortunately it seems that PCI-e isn't very good for soundcards; it has
high throughput, but also high latencies, which are the opposites of what
a soundcard wants.



LOL. So we abandon AGP but cant' get rid of PCI which has been around much
longer than AGP.

Of course I heard that Vista makes good use of onboard audio with less
overhead, so perhaps the days of needing a dedicated sound card are almost
over. Problem is that onboard audio is subject to hiss, crackle, and
diminished quality altogether. Maybe for the audiophiles a USB sound
solution will be required then.
