Re: E6600 now, or Q6600 in July?

I'd intended to buy an upgrade this month, including an Intel Core 2 Duo
E6600 for EUR 215, but then saw this:

http://www.hardocp.com/news.html?news=MjU4MDcsLCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdCwsLDE=

"According to HKEPC, there is a new round of price cuts coming from Intel
on July 22nd. The chart shows the quad core Q6600 processors dropping to
an amazing $266."

This should mean that a Q6600 in July will cost about the same as an E6600
now.

Now, I realise that most games don't take advantage of quad core now, but
this is likely to change considerably in the next 6 months; Half Life
Episode 2, for example (and does that mean Valve will update the Source
engine so _all_ games based on it will avail of quad core? Not sure).

So, should I simply hang on for 6 weeks? It seems like a no brainer, but
is there a catch?

Wait the six weeks... That's PERFECT for me too. I've been looking to do an
upgrade, but wasn't quite sure what the future would bring with Intel and
nVidia. Maybe by then nVidia will have a revised 8800 GTS setup for cheaper
too! I noticed the newer dual cores come on the 1333MHz FSB, which many
mobos don't support at the moment. So you might want to consider a 1333MHz
FSB mobo as well, so you have future upgradeability as well.
