geforce 7950gx2 problems

Hi,
I've installed a new gigabyte geforce 7950gx2 on my computer.
When I used windows 2k pro, everything was great, no problems, great
performance ...
When upgrading to winXp Pro the problems started.
When upgrading the setup got stuck.
Only after removing the drivers of the video card, will the setup
continue.
After installing the drivers suplied by the vendor it was ok for a
while, but after about 2 weeks, the problems returned.
The screen got blank (actually blinking black) and the computer
wouldn't even boot with vga mode (only safe mode).
I tried updating the MB bios (MSI 795x platinum) and still problems.
When I remove the drivers, boot normally and then from device manager
reinstall the driver, it seems ok (until I boot and then everything
from the beginning...).
Has anyone encountered such behavior?

10x.
