Is Crysis really going to require Vista, DX10 and a DX10 graphics card

kick-start Vista sales.
Blig Twit, of course not. You spend too much time swallowing and
reguritating information in the Inquirer and similar National Enquirer
-style electronic rags. By the time Crysis comes out Vista will still
be pie-in-the-sky.... Bill (M$$) G. has now stated publicly that there
is 80% chance of Vista shipping in January, so expect Vista for the
"common man" by the middle of next year. The business editions might
come a little earlier. Crysis is expected at the turn of the year, and
you can bet that its graphics feature-set will be as flexible as that
in Far Cry (or Oblivion, for that matter). EA is betting that Crysis
will be as great a volume seller as the BF series. Constraint to DX10
cards is "not on EA's cards".... AT ALL !! No doubt it will run
effectively on DX10 cards. I'm sure that Crytek has prototype silicon
from nVidia and ATi and beta DX10 software in their development labs,
just as they had DX9/SM3.0 hardware for Far Cry.
Considering how well Far Cry looks with DX9/SM3.0, if Crysis looks
just as good on the same hardware and the storyline, gameplay and
specifically the AI far superior to that of Far Cry, I shall be a very
happy camper. Crytek has altready demonstrated their ability to make a
very cycle-efficient (GPU and CPU) game-engine. The Cryengine2 will be
just as efficient AND will take full advantage of multi-core CPUs -- a
far more important enhancement for this game than updating the
GPU(s)!!! Gameplay physics and AI are the likely cycle-sharers on the
multicore machines. Hopefully you will have your dual-core system
ready to go.
Do you want a great FPS game with great single-player AI and an
exciting action storyline, , or are you one of those peculiar myopic
so-called gamers examining the perfection of the pixels with your
magnifying glass on your laggy, limited-color-resolution LCD
screen, spending at least 80% of your time running graphics benchmarks
and competing for bragging-rights on every forum at your disposal ?
