(OT) Thunderbird

Finally got round to loading it back up - I quite like the new version but have rediscovered the thing I really hated about it last time and am hoping someone can advise. I read a number of groups and crossposts have to be read repeatedly. OE for all it's faults marks a thread read in all groups once I've read it in one. Is there a way of getting TB to do this?

Going off to Google now but I know there's a number of users in here who might have a simple solution? Ta.
