Re: dvi vga cables

i tried playing Battlefield 1942 on my 19" widescreen lcd....

it didn't load, it wouldn't recognize my display.

is this all to common, is there some way around it?

all my other games loaded just fine, but for some reason 1942 wouldn't
recognize the display

hi

i just bought a 19" widescreen format lcd.

my previous was a standard 17" lcd.

i previously used vga to vga.

i'm currently using vga to vga.
i am considering going from vga (from vid card) to dvi (on graphics card)
cable.

is it worthwhile, performance-wise...what should i expect?

or is the difference so miniscule that i should just stick to what i have
now, vga to vga?

let me know, thanks

It was an interesting effect for me. My cheap VGA cable made everything
just a hair fuzzy. Not noticeable before DVI, but noticeable after. DVI
makes the picture on an LCD as sharp as can be. I don't know which one
I liked better... the itty bitty fuzz made things look a bit more
"natural".

Color saturation and blacks were much improved w/ a DVI cable, though.
YMMV depending on the quality of your current VGA cable.
