Have you ever thought about a dual boot system?
I personally can't live without dual boot.
Since I can remember all my PCs have had dual boot.
If the OS is the same you don't pay more for it and the extra
HDD space you need is worthy.
At this point I have a dual boot system with XP Home two times
One is for net and work, fully patched.
The other is for games only, really exclusively for gaming and
with the less possible stuff installed so it can be very fast
for gaming.
You are a veteran gamer so giving you advice is strange but I
really recommend you thinking about a dual boot system.
The only thing you must do is never forget each OS in its own
partition. I have the first two partitions (C: and D: both
with 10GB and both with each XP Home boot installation)
