Re: need new AGP video card

So,where's the 6800GS AGP fit in here in terms of
performance.Price is about $225

In PCI Express all the Geforce 6th generation are "killed"
by the 7th generation with nVIDIA introduction all cards
for all the market segments, the 7300, 7600, 7900.
So in PCI Express the 6800 GS was "killed" by the 7600 GT
cause it beats it in everything, price/performance/power/
heat.
The Geforce 6th generation is now almost 2 years old so it
is perfectly normal it being replaced by the new younger
and faster 7th generation.
In history books the nVIDIA 6th generation GPUs will be
remembered as a great success and the one which took them
right back to the top spot.

Now the problem is AGP which still only had a single card
from the Geforce 7th generation... but I do believe just
like we had the 7800 AGP much later than the 7800 PCI-e,
we will have the 7600 AGP in a couple of month.
When the 7600 is released for AGP, then the 6800 GS will
have no reason to exist anymore.
In my opinion I don't see no reason to even now buy a 6800
GS AGP or even the 6600 GT AGP.
If you want top performance with a AGP bus choose the 7800
GS, and if you want a more affordable solution I would
recommend waiting for the 7600 AGP to be released.

I have a Radeon 9600 and I've been waiting for the 7600 for
AGP to be released for some time now, and the more time
passes, the more I am sure it will happen very soon, and I
do believe the wait is worthy and will pay back due to the
incredible price/performance ratio the 7600 has.

PS: I would also like to see a AGP only benchmark with all
the new cards from nVIDIA and ATI. AGP among PC Gamers is
very far from dead and it will still be used in the next
couple of years to play games on the PC so it should not
be forgotten by anyone.
