That doesn't always work.

Sometimes when there is a Steam platform update it also 'requires' game
updates and will refuse to let you play an SP game until it has updated
the game as well irrespective of the update status you set for each
game.

I wouldn't bother trying to set Mitty straight. He'll never accept any
criticism of his beloved Steam, even when known problems are pointed out,
because he hasn't had a problem (and thus nobody else could be having any
problems). This group is alot easier to read with him, Steamkiller and
Magnulus killfiled.

I assume this is to do with the file integrity, but in the UK because of
low-cost competition we are moving to a system of ISPs imposing monthly
bandwidth limits on broadband so any 'unnecessary' traffic is a
liability.

Typical UK, hey have 8Mb or 24Mb broadband but you can only use 10Gb a
month :)

Seems to be in theme with police state measure such as tolls on London
streets, cameras everywhere and detention without charge. Not to be outdone
however, US politicians are doing their best to leapfrog you. So are our
broadband providers.
