I liked Iron Storm a great deal. I just bought World War Zero, which
is I believe, the reworked PC version ported to consoles which has
been ported back to the PC again.

I haven't noticed anything different in the gameplay area yet,
although I think the graphics look worse. Iron Storm is lots of browns
and greys whereas WWZ seems to have brighter colours, reds and
yellows, which I find somewhat unsettling. Also, everything looks so
much bigger in WWZ. It's like playing at 640 x 480, even though I am
playing at 1280 x 960.

Codename: Outbreak had something compelling about it. I followed its
development right from when it was called Venom. I had hours of fun
beta testing the multi player side of it. I also made a walkthrough
for the game and helped moderate the forums at venom3d.com for a
while. Good times.

I don't know if you ever tried the multiplayer side of the game. The
Co-op play was tons of fun, and the Town DM1 CTF map still rates as
one of the best of its kind I've ever played.

I recently played through Shogo again. It looks decidedly naff now of
course, and serves as a reminder as to just how far graphics have
come. But the game is still fun to play.

I am often left wondering why many of todays games feel like empty
tech demo's. I still play and enjoy some modern shooters. They just
don't stir the same parts of my mind for the most part though. The
last game I really enjoyed playing was Chronicles of Rid***: Escape
from Butcher Bay.

Currently, the only games that can keep my attention for more than 10
minutes are Planetside and Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines.
