I never cared much for fancy chairs; I wouldn't want anything like you
describe. I just want a seat that keeps me comfortable.

The most comfortable gaming chair I ever had was a nice leather club
chair; plush enough for extended sessions but with enough firmness to
keep me upright and awake. Just the right tilt to the back, just the
right height off the ground, and a seat wide enough so my legs didn't
feel constrained but not so wide that the arms fell off the armrests.
Awesome chair. Unfortunately, it fell apart after years of hard use.

Second best was a used recliner; wonderful to sit in, but it had
really short legs. Fortunately, at the time my computer "desk" was
plastic milk crates so in the end it worked out pretty well ;-)

I despise all those silly office chairs. First of all, I can't stand
the swivel; something shoots at me in Doom3, I lurch to the side and
suddenly I'm spinning around. Same with chairs with wheels. Plus, none
of the office chairs can take more than a year or two of real gaming
punishment; they may be okay if you're sitting at a desk typing, but
when I play there's sudden weight shifts to the left, right and back
and the plastic and steel just doesn't hold up.

Currently I'm sitting in a repurposed garden chair; ouch. On the plus
side, I stop playing games sooner so I'm more active now :-)
