Ok, here we goooooo...

My specs:
A64 X2 4800+ on GA K8NS Ultra 939 (F8 bios, nforce3 Ultra chipset), 2 x 1
gig PC3200 DDR400 in dual channel, Geforce 6800 GT 256meg, nvidia 77.77
driver set, nVidia 5.10 chipset drivers. Onboard sound chip nVidia 4.67
driver set.
XP Pro SP2, DirectX 9.0c(August05 release).

This is the original Aliens vs Predator game from Fox Interactive. It's a
DX6 game. My system has no trouble at all with playing the FMV's,
displaying and working in all of the games menus. I installed the Full
with high qual non EAX sound with all videos. I set it up for 1280x1024-32
bit. It got into the game screen and I had sound and the 'sprites' for the
OSD stuff. The games 'world space' was black, moving the mouse made big
color streaks with the OSD stuff, and a xenomorph attacked and killed me.
Never saw a thing :) It's got video issues and doesn't want to obey the
sound volume settings immediately. But it DOES run, just can't see
anything.
So, I have problems running it too. I also found, download and installed
the only patch ever made for the game, "avp098.exe", less than 5 megs.

I'll be trying to get it going on this rig. I do have it installed on the
P4 rig and it ran great with the Ti4600, Radeon 8500, FX5900 and Radeon 9800
Pro under XP Pro SP1 and 2. But I'm rebuilding that system to give it to
my eldest daughter to use for an image/graphics/photo workstation. No
longer available to test with.

Have you gotten anyplace with getting it to run without the CTD?

McG.
