I havent tried too hard but cannot get java to kick me off the system.
Does your program generate an exception to force it to exit? I normally
just make my classes return.

Yes, my program is interactive.

I found out what the problem was, I omitted .class when specifying the
class file I think. I found out that the interface remains the same,
qsh style with output in one region and 4-5 lines for input.

This is undesirable, I was hoping I could use the whole screen.

The main problem , is as I stated in the original post:

The only alternative I can think of now is to check your keyboard
mapping for 'end field' in client access & use that to re-position more
speedily.
