Listening application on as400 via VPN

Hello,
I have the following problem I 'm not able to solve.
I have an RPG application listening on port 31001 .
There is a client application (WINDOWS) that talks with the as400
program on port 31001 to retrieve and exchange information.
Everything works fine when the client application (hosted on my PC)
runs over the local LAN.
When I connect remotely via a VPN connection that assigns me a IP
address,
I can see :
A) the as400 program on port 31001 in a 'FIN-WAIT-2' status
B) The client application is active in the WINDOWS Task Manager , but
no window is displayed.

On the AS400 there is a logical VIRTUAL IP configuration which is
associated to two physical ethline lines.
I tried to connect via both IP addresss , but nothing change.

I'm running V5R3 at security level 30.

Any help is appreciated.
Cheers
Giovanni
