V5R2 System Values on AS400 S20

Hi.

I am running V5R2 on a S20 with CPU of 2177. RAM is 4GB.

The system performance is extremely slow. I am doing some java program compilation.

Using "wrksyssts", the max CPU utilization is only 25% max. This means that only 1 CPU is working all the time. I have no user accesing the system or any other jobs running. The IO states on the disks are only max of 3% to 5% on all 10 disks drives.

I tried to change the system value "QPRCMLTTSK" to "1" but after IPl, it become "0" again.

any thing I can do to fully utilise the system capacity? It is taking me more than a week to do the compilation.
