All of these loop holes in "security/integrity" of the system are going to eventually be closed up. You should be contacting IBM to present your reasons for needing this type of capability. This can then allow IBM to make appropriate enhancements (assuming IBM feels it is safe) to allow your function to continue to work (with modification of course). Usually these enhancements are in the form of APIs or exit interfaces.

Hi,
Programs have two attributes, "Program state" and "Program domain" that normally are set to *USER when one creates a new program.
Using SST, you set these attributes to *SYSTEM, with the "Display/Alter/Dump" service tool.
For the "Program domain" I know how to do this: I must change the hex value at offset 6-7 from 0001 to 8000 in order to set it to *SYSTEM, like this:
Display Storage
Control . . . . . . . nnnnn, Pnnnn, Lcccccc, .cccccc, >
Address . . . . . . . 3ED3244CC7 000000
0000 00010018 00900001 3ED3244C C7000000 * .........L.<G... *
0010 70010300 00000000 357CD2C3 A8001000 * .........@xxxxxx *
etc...
The first line must be changed to:
0000 00010018 00908000 etc.
But for the other one I don't know the offset or the value.
I have tried changing some spots where I saw 0001 to 8000, but the result always was that DSPPGM reported various MCHxxxx messages, saying the program is damaged, dangling, or some other bad thing.
Does anyone know what offset I must change to what value, in order to set the "Program state"attribute to *SYSTEM as well ?
Thank you,
Etienne
