Sharing BRMS Media with other partitions...

I've been tasked with migrating from out current backup software, LXI, to
BRMS. I've setup BRMS, created my policies, setup the BRMS network...etc..
One thing I want to continue to do is share the media that exists in our
tape library (around 900 tapes total). With LXI, this tape information was
shared quite easily and in BRMS its equally as easy. What I don't want to
do is to share/sync the policies as I have numerous partitions that each
have their own unique policy requirements..be it vault/container management,
retention times..etc. However with BRMS, I do not see a way of telling it
to only sync the tape media information and nothing else.
Am I missing something? Is there a way to do this in BRMS? We are
currently running V5R2.
