This sounds like a web service to me. What you normally do is make an HTTP request to the server and it returns the response.
I have many customers using my GETURI application for the request portion. It doesn't build or parse XML for you, but compared to writing your own HTTP client to do this, the XML is the "easy" part. :)
You can download a free trial from www.bvstools.com/geturi.html.
And, as always, you're more than welcome to contact me with any questions, concerns, etc.

Hi there,.
I have to check data that is entered into one of my RPG programs running on the AS400 with a remotely installed database using XML.
I have to send a request out over the network thru the router and modem and than receive an answer from a remote server which must be routed to the AS400.
I surely just do not understand what this means and how this could work. Can anyone of you shed some light on this issue or point me to a direction where I can read about this.
TIA
