Re: cost running 620 24x7

Brian

It varies a little based on how many disks and IXS (or IPCS as it was
called in 6xx) but IBM gives a figure of 1.592KW, I can't say I've ever
tried to test these figures but would suggest you use it as a guide,
more information available from:

Does anyone know how much electricity it takes to run an as/400 620
24x7? I am getting one with a PC card in it. I already have a server
running 24x7(110ac), if the cost warrants, I will run my server on the
PC card in the as/400 and eliminate the PC server. Otherwise, I will
keep my PC server and set the AS/400 to remote turn on when someone
wants to use it. this box is only going to be used by 2-3 people and
doesn't need to be on 24x7, unless we move the PC server to the PC
card.
Thanks for any help,
