Do you pay software maintenance?
No. Software subscription cancelled long ago for this machine. Zero
software costs for the whole development system.
CGI is not the flavour anymore. I don't know why but no one wants to know
about it.
ACK. It's simple to write, fast and stable.
We don't use it anyway. We have a plain "CALL program(parameter)" as
you would type it in a CL to call the transaction programs from the web
server.
All user entries on the html form go to the parameter. In the result
parameter you find the name of the next-to-show html page and the
contents for it's variable fields. Or a XML string, if the request came
from a partner's web server. People look at neat html, servers prefer
XML.
As simple as it sounds.
