Re: RCVJRNE/exitpgm vs. Mimix

A) Do you have this in place today from the production system.
B) Is it possible to run your MQ on the replicated machine to move what
you need to the backend system that is non ISERIES.
C) If time is not important, once you move to the replicated box, could
you then fire up what you need then on it to move the data with MQ.
D) Without having to go for the journal entries and writing exit programs
etc, does MQ have a way to move the data that your looking for via some MQ
Tools.

Hello Group,
I would like to confer with you.
I am designing real-time replication of selected data from iSeries
production database onto a non-iSeries system. Both systems are
connected in MQseries environment; iSeries database is completely
journaled and mirrored on a hot-backup system using Mimix product.
To ensure realtime replication of the data, I would like to use a user
exit program defined in RCVJRNE. The exit program would be continuously
receiving journal entries and sending the data as MQ datagrams to the
destination system.

I am wondering if it is possible to retrieve JEs with RCVJRNE/exitpgm
on the production system while Mimixing to a backup system. Is there
any interference or adverse impact on Mimix performance which is
considered critical ? Is such combination of technologies (DB2
journalling, Mimix, MQSeries) feasible? When reading through tech
manuals, I have found nothing what would exclude this solution...to
assure myself I am turning to You.

Thanks a lot for your contributions,

O.S.
