Well once signed in to the HMC you should be able to click on
Server and Partition
Server Management
and then in the right panel you should see at least "1" Manage System. Click the plus sign and then the plus sign on Partitions. You should
now see any "configured" partitions and their "state" (like running)
You can click the plus mark on a partition to see 1 or more profiles
that can be used to start. Right Clicking on the "Partition" name should
bring up several options and should be able start the partition among other things including opening a console.
Now the AIX profile for whatever partition only defines what hardware to use and where the boot drive is attached.
Right clicking the Partition Name, you should be able to see the Properties tab and then see the Settings tab...
I'm an iSeries guy so I can't give you much more help on loading AIX etc. You might want to try and see if there is pSeries group here.
