I don't mind you recommending a non-IBM solution to the problem. However, if
your going to use negative marketing to hype an alternative solution than you
better have your facts straight.
1) DB2 Connect does not support the access of SQL Server tables, only DB2. You
would need to get WebSphere Information Integrator.
2) An embedded CONNECT statement is NOT required. IBM offers an ILE API set
known as the SQL Call Level Interface (CLI), thus industry standard SQL
interfaces can be used - doesn't matter if it's embedded or API-based.
3) The price of DB2 Connect can be an issue for some customers, IBM is
considering a special iSeries package with a lower price point.
