Hello,
Sorry, to answer you so late. Yes, PHP can interact with DB2 because
it has been compiled with DB2 support. Btw, there is a limited number
of open source (most of the time the ones which support DB2 and which
use a databse abstract layer) application which interact (with a few
tweaks sometimes) with the native iSeries DB2 database.
Of course, you can also call some regular iSeries program from PASE
with the system command. The other way around is also possible. PHP on
the iSeries is also working as a CGI. So, in fact you can mix PHP with
your own CGI applications.
