Is anyone using the Vapple emulator and able to help out with a problem? I'm using it to emulate the 40gs but I assume that the same issue may be occuring with other skins.

When you use the Reset command on the menu it sometimes resets correctly but more often it results in a blank screen on the emulator, as if the calculator had switched off, and nothing I do restores it.

I found that quitting VApple, and preset reset again fixes the issue.

If you did save a state when the memory is in a corrupted state, on way to prevent de-installing / re-installing is by simply deleting the memory state that you saved.
When you restart VApple, it won't see the state and will start a new one.

Another possibility is by simply starting a new calculator state (use the "New" option, in File menu)

A state file is linked to both the skin that you used and the calculator model.
So if you are using the 800x600 skin and switch to the 1024x768 skin, he will use a different memory state ; which is why you see that sometimes a calculator has crashed and using a different skin will make it work again.

The only way to fix the problem seems to be to uninstall the emulator and re-install it from scratch. The problem is that the first time you run the emulator you need to be connected to the internet so that you can enter the code. This is not always possible. Particularly when you're just setting up to demo to 30 teachers and some idiot comes up and PLAYS with the emulator on your laptop and then decides to remove the playing they've done by doing a reset!!

which version are you using?
never had an issue with the reset button.

Obviously the answer is partly to just not use the 'Reset' command but if there is a way to unlock it from the blank state I'd be interested in it. I tried doing a fresh install into a different folder and copying the rom files from the newer install over the old. It made no difference at all.
