Re: Syntax for a LNKARRAY with MASD

First,
debug4x doesn´t handle large strings. The editor windows doesn´t move
to the right.
I have to apologize to Bill. Debug4x does handle long stings now. Now
there is no obstacle left to create a true translation of the 49G

Can't you just use an external editor to edit the file in which you
write the source of your linked array, and then add it into your
debug4x project? (I'm just asking, I have never used debug4x). You can
also compile it separately with the HPTools, can't you?
You should try it. It offers many benefits over the HPTools.

By the way, mostly for fun and because I´m finishing my theory sailing/
nautical courses I´m writing my own navigation program.
Astronavigation is not yet part of it but will evently get and I would
like to include the needed nautical programs in it, too. But the
problem is, I never dealed much with astronomy. It took me two weeks
to understand and programm the moon-phase according the Meeus ;-)
Well, also I used the german version of his book which has a lot of
misprints what I finally found out at the end...
Would you mind helping me out with this dilemma? You seem the know
quite something about, otherwise you couldn´t have written
HPlanetarium, which is a very fast and complex planetarium. One
question about the display: One screen of the 49G is so tiny,
especially if you´re not so good with the stars. Why not use 4 screens
at the very beginning and scroll with the arrows keys? Sure, one would
only see 25% of the sky, but this would be a great enhancement and
could be implemented as an option.
For better explanation:
Current:
______

______

Why not use:
____________

1 2

3 4
____________
to get the big picture ?

Now back to my question: Sooner or later I´d like to program
- ephemeride for Sun, Moon, all 80 nautical stars, Venus, Mars,
Jupiter and Saturn
- height and azimut
- latitude by meridian passage
- position finding by 2 or 3 heights
- rise and set (including culmination) of Sun, Moon Venus, Mars,
Jupiter and Saturn.

I realize that there is quite some work ahead of me, but Rome wasn´t
build on one day :-)

Greetings and TIA
Andreas
