Re: UPDATE: The quest for the equation library

Hello Bertram,

Did you check the checksum of TreeBrowser?
Should be #41CDh and 12.740,0 Bytes.
TreeBrowser in the zip-file is dated 06.09.06 (European date format) at
14:30 o´clock.
That´s the file I have von my calc and in the emulator and everthing
is fine.

Gosh, I thought this would run smoother ;-)

All other files, except the document for TreeBrowser, are untouched.

Andreas,

I downloaded what I thought is the latest version and then all I did is
navigated to an equation and pressed the APPS button. I tried it
several times and it always results in a crash. It also results in a
crash if I don't see the equation but I am at the deepest level of a
submenu. Maybe for some reason I don't have the correct version of the
Equation Library 4.0.

Hello Bertram,

sorry, I can´t reproduce the problem. Pressing APPS on an item that
does not contain an equation does nothing as supposed to do. Pressing
APPS on an item that contains an equation either starts the SX or the
GX solver depending on flag -30.

Could you please give a detailed explanation of what you´re doing ?

Thx
Andreas

Hello Andreas,

I just downloaded the new version. Pressing the APPS button still
crashes the calculator in the Equation Library 4.0. It also crashes
after disabling flag -30 (-30 CF) or/and not using units. Thanks for
looking into this problem.

Hello Bertram,

If the solver of the HP 48SX (flag -30 set) is active and units are
chosen the program crashes. I found and corrected this bug. Thanks for
bug-hunting ;-)

The latest version is available at http://software49g.so.ohost.de.

Thanks for using TreeBrowser.

Hello Andreas,

The browsing through the menus is fixed now and it works great. I still
have trouble starting the SOLVR. When I navigate to an equation and
then press APPS in Equation Library 4.0, the program crashes.

Hello Bertram,

sorry for the delay, I had some trouble with my webspace.

Well, I have no idea how this got in the executable code and I can´t
look at the compiled code directly because for speed reasons all
programs are encapsulated in code-objects allowing faster access to
them.

Anyway, I recompiled the code and strangley noticed a different size
and different checksum. I tested it on my HP 49G+ and couldn´t
reproduce the problem anymore. I personaly use a German version of the
program (since I am German, any language is possible, all strings are
in a separate file) so maybe it or I got mixed up somehow...

Sometimes the devil is the detail ;-)

The latest version is available at http://software49g.so.ohost.de

Please note that the download adress has changed.

Thanks for using TreeBrowser.

Hi Andreas,

I am using ROM Version HP50-C Revision #2.09. I installed all 3
libraries (LIB 274, LIB 543, and LIB 544).

I use Right-Shift 2 to get to the LIB menu where I can see the EQNLIB
4.0 folder. I enter that folder and push the button corresponding to
EQNLIB.

Now I can see the Equation Library menu where the entry "Columns and
Beams" is high lighted. I push the button "EXPA" and I can see the sub
menus. So far everything is fine.

Now I simply push the scroll down button 11 times. The line after the
submenu "Cantilever Shear" looks garbled on my screen.

The program does not crash. The line just looks garbled. If I scroll
down further the other lines look garbled too.

I may have done something with the other programs to crash the
calculator that I was not supposed to do. I don't remember what I did.

Thanks for all the good work,

Bertram
