I agree. Even Maple and Mathematica have subtle problems.
I have used these issues as an opportunity to teach my math and
physics students good math techniques and caution. I has been great
fun, and the students actually get a big kick out of it when they get
an easy problem on an exam or homework assignment that the calculator
can't do. I think it helps give the students a broader perspective
instead of just blindly relying on calculators and software to do their
thinking for them. It teaches them to check their answers by other
means and to ask themselves "Does the answer make sense?"

SOLVEVX(1/X=0) gives {} which is correct
SOLVEVX(1/X>0) gives X>0 which is correct
SOLVEVX(1/X>=0) gives X>=0 whereas it should be X>0?
Would x= +/- infinity be the additional correct solution(s)
to the last case?
It must be tough for a CAS to deal with all possible nit picks
to become absolutely rigorous; I wonder what percentage of its
entire development (and size) deals with just this
infinitesimal percentage of all its answers? ;-)
