Hmmm ... I wonder if this could be due to the screen being run at 6V on
the 50g, but 4.5V on the 49G+ ...
Well, the battery voltage is different, but if I recall correctly,
the LCD runs from a different voltage from the power supply, so I
rather doubt that the battery voltage is making any difference in
the display.
Perhaps the plastic cover over the display is made from a
different material?
Or maybe it's a matter of variations in individual LCDs or
production runs?
Or perhaps the LCD manufacturer has made some change, even though
the part number is the same?
How many of you with a 50g do not like the screen issues? Since I
don't need the serial port, this could be the deciding factor on
getting a 50g, or a recent 49g+ with the new keyboard.
