Re: FW: 9/11 Living Memorial - Please Read

Connie:

Thank you for posting your message. While our family did not suffer the loss
of a loved one on 9-11-01, a family member in the past was murdered, and I
can only imagine that the feeling of sudden, shocking and permanent loss may
be similar. You never forget that feeling - I have never forgotten that day
either.

My brother was a pilot for American Airlines the morning of 9-11-01, and
knowing that our mother always had a cable news channel on in the background
as she worked called her from the cockpit to find out why they had been told
of a "national grounding" of all flights - something that had never happened
in the history of our country before. No one on the plane knew what was
going on at that moment - they were in line for take off.

She informed him of the first plane hitting the World Trade Center in New
York, and as she was on the phone, the second plane struck. Like everyone
else at that moment, they suddenly realized it was an act of terrorism. An
announcement was made on the plane's PA system and the passengers started
making cell phone calls. Shortly after the instructions came from the
control tower to return to the gate and disembark.

Quoting (in part) Connie Sellitto:

Time to reflect - as you may recall, our cousin's son Matthew C. Sellitto
age 23, lost his life on September 11, 2001. Please read & forward this
message from my husband, a trial attorney who has worked to assist victims'
families and is presently involved in a suit to help curtail the funding of
terrorist organizations and governments.

Thank you,
Connie
