Raghu Rao asks about troubleshooting a hung job.
Here are some things I would have tried.
See what files and databases the program has open. (In MPEX,
SHOWPROC;FORMAT=FILES.) Anything suspicious?
Does the program have MR (Multiple Rin) capability? It's very easy for
such a program to get itself into a deadlock.
Use DBUTIL to look at the databases the program has open. (SHOW USERS
and SHOW LOCKS.) Could the program be waiting on an unconditional
database lock request to be satisfied?
