Hello Donna, Gilles and Robert :)
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away... Called SRN's IRIS product ...
we had a similar problem that was addressed by setting the application
parameters to build spoolfiles with max page counts so that we would break
a 25,000 page print out into say... 100 spoofl's of 250 pages... helped
with printing 'em when the printer jammed ..
I can't remember the syntax for the spoolf that handles this... but
maybe someone else can supply it? Maybe the 911 software has a similar
"setting" somewhere in it? I remember I had to call SRN Tech Support (I
was on a first name basis with 'em all :) ) to figure out how to set this
within the software as the setting was buried in a KSAM file.

P.S. Wayne Holt should be able to answer this if he is still around?

i agree with gilles....however i don't know if you have the ability to make
such a change.
this seems like a question best asked of your 911 software vendor, but i'm
guessing you're asking here because they're unable to help.
perhaps if you could tell us a bit more about 'the application' that would
help us understand your question better. is 'the application' a
job/server? - d

I think the only way you could do that would be to actually modify
the application program to periodically (say, for example, every 10
pages or every 100 pages) close then re-open the print file.

We have out 911 interface running on our HP3000 24x7. Once a week, we
abort the application to close out the spool file that the application
generates. Is there a way to keep the application running and redirect
the output to a new spool file?
We are running MPE 7.0 PP2 and this is on an N-Class e3000 system.
