Looking in control panel under keybd (properties) driver tab. says HP 9-7-2006 ver. 1.0.7.1 Enhanched MM Keybd. I no longer had the file. Knowing I didn't need it I prob. del. it. My pc is brand new, but eject keys are backwards. Top key opens bottom drive, bottom key opens top. So for the hell of it I asked HP (knowing all I prob. needed to do was reverse the cables on back of the drives). Just didn't want to open the box.
Nat. the idot told me d/l latest driver. Uninstall keybd and load new driver. Like daaah.. lol When I told HP I had latest driver then he said seeing how the eject keys weren't programmable I'd need to swap the cables on the drives. Mind you that is what I asked him originally. For now I will live w/it. I'll fix it when I have need to open the case.<g>.

True about their support....
Question, if you show that particular key as programmable, can you tell me which driver you have installed?? I have the latest, 1.0.2.6, dated Jan 13, 2006... thanks!
Larry M. wrote:Then I would doubleck HP site for drivers. If you have the drivers
they show see about the prev. release.
I know their support is a waste, which is sad. W/HP Nothing is odd.

Hi, Larry.. sounds the same, but mine only lists 5 buttons: Internet, Burn CD/DVD, Help, E-Mail, and Search... it does not list
Club HP..funny thing, neither does my daughter's HP..both
Pavillions, hers a year newer, same keyboard... hers a newer
revision... 2.2... Odd??

I am not 100% sure what you are asking. I also have an HP machine
w/MM keybd.
I believe it is the same Gray wired kybd. When I hit that button the
following url loads:
http://h71036.www7.hp.com/hho/cache/565310-0-0-225-121.html
I believe it should load automatically. But going to Control Panel -
Keybd - Buttons
there is 1 line that says Button-HPClub / Display Label - Launch HP
Club / Clicking on that line brings up a box
that says: Choose a button capability - Pull down is Default. Can
be made as simple local file w/label.
Under that says Display Label - Launch HP Club (Grayed out) and
Addr: C:\HP\KBD\KbdUtil.exe /HPClub.
See if this helps you any. Also make sure that the kbdutil is
running. I can't imagine why it wouldn't though.
Good luck.

On both my Pavilion, running XP Home, and my daughter's Pavilion,
running Vista, both PC's have the same Multimedia keyboards.. mine
is #5187-7583, rev 1.5...
You can program the 'sleep' button thru power options, you can
program the other buttons thru Hardware/Keyboard/buttons..
The one mysteriously missing in either system, is the 'HP+Club'
button... Where can that be programmed?? We have the latest
drivers, etc.. but
this one is elusive....
thanks!
