Issue with HP4050

Good morning

I hope this is the right place to post about an issue I have with an
HP 4050

This printer is used by an old financial system that prints to a
serial port. In addition, we also print from Windows desktops.

It seems that when we print from the financial system, the printout
comes out without any problem - but when we print from a Windows
machine after, the job just sits in the Windows queue. The printer
will say its "READY" but nothing happens.

If I power-cycle the printer, the jobs start printing. If I reset all
IO channels, the jobs start printing. Everything works fine until
someone prints to the serial port again.

Any help or additional steps to try would be greatly appreciated.
