HP Pavillion W5251 UK Software Problems

Hi everybody,

I bought my W5251 from Comet in November last year, and am fairly pleased
with its performance. There are some problems though which I wonder if any
other users have noticed, and would ask what steps they have taken to remedy
these.

1 - When I open Microsoft Word sometimes it takes ages to load, or I will
end up clicking a document and because it takes so long to load I will
click the document again, and because nothing seems to be happening I shut
down the computer. As the applications are clising down, it then seems that
Microsoft word wants to start-up, but can't intitialise becasuse Windows is
shutting down. Speaking as a comnplete novice here, is this to do with a
software conflict in the Pavillion system, or is this specifically to do
with Word?

2 - Similar problems to that described above happen with other applications,
though you double click them, or a document related to them, they do not
open until you shut down Windows, and then theyt fail to initialise.

3 - The NVIDIA control panel often interrupts programs saying they have
become unresponsive.

If you have noticed, these or any other problems with this particular
comouter, I would like to know them, and what steps you have taken to solve
them.
