got it myself: This is an easy-plug connector as it appears in Omnibook
notebook drive modules, just with more pins. It's designed to plug into the
StorageWorks rack mountable drive cabinet.

But I wonder: is there an HP P/N for the DDS drive external easy-plug
connector to run the drive without the cabinet?

I need the HP P/N for the drive-to-host cable. SCA cables won't suffice.

You have to take care of termination according to the SCSI rules yourself.
