Not to argue your point but Compaqs and HP's have been rolling in here
and the fact is the jacks are not nearly as good as Toshiba's.. I
realize all manufacturers have their own issues but these newer HP's
are approaching #1 in my opinion on jack failure. (Dell has internal
jack issues, Gateway? We dont want to go there) HP Did what they
thought was an upgrade by utilizing a different style jack.(Hardwire
as opposed to the gold plated stamped out jack pos. pin). I have seen
these fail in as little as 3 months from being returned after the
installation of the new systemboard from HP due to the lead size not
being able to handle the heat. I can understand the consumers
frustration as these are not a low end unit by any means. The new Z8K
series has a totally redesigned jack and adapter.. Wonder why? Just
another opinion from someone that works on all brands of notebooks.
