If it ain't broke, don't fix it. That's what HP is telling you and
in this case they're right. BIOS updates are for serious problems or
to support new HW. If you're not having problems then don't do it.
A botched BIOS update will render your computer useless.

Check HP's web site, it'll explain what the BIOS update is for.
