I have been trying to find this old program called EA BACKUP, it works
only on old 83-85 EA titles, and what it did was, read in the EA part
of the loader, where it changes the colors as its loading, and it
saved it into a file, and removed the protection. I have searched hi
and low, and have not been able to find it. It did not patch the
protection, or create the fat track on T35, but it removed the loader
and saved the contents into a file, then the file could be loaded with
a fastload cart, and started and by passing the entire EA loader
routine. Anyone have a source ? or Link ?
I just set The Ea Cracker at my site herehttp://users.commspeed.net/wlbbs/request.d64
I think ? this is what your looking for. It's off the CD Collection I
offer, Christian is talking about ( but this one boots )
It was made in 1984 and "released" by The Softworx Crew. The Sys
address is sys2078 , in case you need that.
This is off CD # 1 ( first assembled in 1998 ) , so I may have more
now, with all the contributions , since the start of the project...
possibly the one written by Jerry . I'll look, and let ya know. In
the mean time, let me know if this works for you.... I don't have an
original EA program floppy to test it on.

That's not the one I wrote. The one I wrote uses the PETSCII
characters to spell out "EA CRACKER" or "EA BACKUP" (don't really
remember which) across the top of the screen - maybe 5 to 8 rows tall,
and then cycles through several colors (red, yellow, white) to kind of
give it the effect of a flame.
