Re: SX64 which one of you guyz sniped me :)

My regret is that I never had a real reason to get rid of my stuff and
walk off the end of the earth. Looking back - it just looks like I
threw a fit because things weren't happening in a way I could
comprehend and I became distressed.

Well, sometimes we all feel like we have too much stuff "weighting us
down". The best thing you can do it lighten the load to deal with the
stress... but then we get sentimental and start missing that stuff
again.

Granted if I still had it, I would probably not be using it very
often... but sometimes just simply holding it, looking at it, and
touching the keys is enough to remind me of my childhood and the day I
came home from K-Mart with my new vic20 and datasette and plugged it
into my dad's color TV. I had been mowing lawns all summer to save
the money up and had just finished a summer programming class at the
science center and happily started coding away... and the Vic20 manual
was the cutest thing ever. I loved the way commodore wrote their VIC
and 64 manuals... I was 11 or 12 then.

Now because of that computer I am a self taught software engineer (no
degree) doing what I wanted to do as a kid... if I had only known that
computers wouldn't be the same as they were back then I would have
probably chosen a different path. Computers are incredible these days
but the magic and passion is gone. Apple had some of it left it until
they went Intel but at least we have some hope left as OSX is standing
it's ground. Now it's just a soul-less empty machine... like a gas
pump.
