Both of my 64C setups have stereo SID with a pair of PC speakers
attached. Is it dangerous to have floppies near the speakers (magnetic
fields)?
Always keep ANY floppy disks FAR away from ANY magnetic source.

Well right, no fridge magnets. I don't know anything about electricity, but
aren't PC speakers shielded or something? or was that on Star Trek?

Yes good PC speakers are shielded, more for the sake of CRT monitors
than floppies I think but it is good all the way around. However I
wouldn't put my data to the test by setting my disk on one regardless.
It is just so easy to avoid, so why take the chance.
