Also, have you ever used a M$ product that properly functioned?
DOS ?
And what did DOS rip off? Unix. Without multitasking. Without multiuser capabilities. Without pipes. Without forks and threads. Without any synchrony. Without virtual memory. Without any serious form of security. Without an efficient file system that doesn't ridiculously fragment. Basically, without anything resembling a true operating system and lacking functionality that had been present in Unix since the late sixties/early 70s.
That just deals with functionality. With regard to functioning properly - it crashed. All too often, and in entirely too many ways. Just like modern MS operating systems. No Linux and FreeBSD system I've used on Intel and Alpha CPUs has had anywhere near the poor track record of MS. Indeed, FreeBSD has never crashed and Linux only on the rare occasion when unloading the kernel wrapper module for a device driver written for Windows.
