Plus the minimum order fee???

That's the rub with mail order. Even with places like MCM and Mouser
that don't have minimums, you still pay more for shipping than for the
part itself.
Did anyone notice that the 1541 has a 1.5A 5 volt regulator? It's in
a TO-3 metal package rather than the TO-3PJ plastic of the internal 64 PS
regulator and so requires special mounting to a heat sink if it can't be
allowed to touch metal directly. A junked 1541 board could provide that IC
and sink.
