Yeah, I miss manuals.
Don't we all. Every computer used to have a technical reference guide, as
well. I used to have a really great Blue Chip dot matrix printer that had a
manual describing all of the control codes and how to reprogram the
character set.
Why are most manuals on PDF today? Two reasons. 1. They didn't have PDF in
the '80s. 2. It's cheaper than an actual paper book.
And why do you think that Microsoft doesn't provide Office with decent
manuals? Answer. They do. The manuals for Office are those impressively
thick Microsoft Press books you see at the Barnes and Noble.
