I'm sure an intermediate step to start with can be achieved reasonably. I was thinking of the video modes on the C64. I agree with you, whatever the final decision is - the coder would make the decision.
That's not what i was saying; i was saying that you don't have *any* understanding of what you're talking about to even offer a prospective programmer suggestions. Which is why you always get the piss taken out of you when you try.
