The 1660 does not use the AT (Hayes) command set. The 1670 does.
With the 1660, you have to feed sound into the RCA jack on the back of
the modem, so that it can send that sound down the telephone line...
then you use your SID to create touch tones.
If you don't have a 1660 manual, drop another note here and I'll see if
I can scan a couple pages from mine and send them your way.
