Further to my PET 2001 post

Hi guys,
Well, I read what you mentioned to check. If I disconnect the monitor
connector that runs to the motherboard and power up, nothing appears on the
monitor's screen. If I remove what I presume to be the power connector from
the motherboard, same deal. So I'm pretty sure there is power to the
system.
I seem to recall checking for power at the internal tape drive connector and
there was in fact power there. But maybe I was checking it wrong.. anyone
know which 'pins' to check and what voltages to look for? I know the drive
itself works.. I hooked it up to another commodore just to check.
I noticed under one of the two (video?) ram sockets there is some stuff that
looks almost like amber/spray foam. Anyone know what that's about? It's
right under the socket, you can see it though if you look down at the right
angle.
Here's a picture of the screen in case you're curious. It's hard to photo
these screens on my camera for some reason, but in between the bright blue
lines are really small ones.

Anyone got a Pet 2001 with a really good picture of a working motherboard
(so I can verify the chips are all in their correct sockets, aligned the
right way, etc?).
Thanks again!
.
