An alternative could be the guys at http://ibas.com/.
They are very reputable, and have done some quite spectacular data
rescues. They claim to be able to read several "layers" deep of
overwritten data. They do not list CBM DOS as a supported operating
system, but they should be able to help you anyway. If they could
provide you with a raw GCR dump of the overwritten data, you could
probably get help from someone in this group to assemble it to files.
They're not cheap, of course, but it is not so bad that you should
refrain from getting a price estimate.
