Re: Got a school question.. I'm thinking of purchasing a Commodore Vic-20 keyboard off the internet, are they compatible with newer PC motherboards?

It occurred to me that Laust Brock-Nannestad wrote in comp.sys.cbm:

I love them, really. My previous laptop had one (A toshiba), my current
laptop has one (an IBM, as toshiba stopped using trackpoints! Gah!). Not
having to reach out for my mouse is wonderful.

Would that work? I'd say that the ball and mouse buttons are on rather
inconvenient locations..

Either way, it's probably better than this thing:

We ship those keyboards with our systems. Horrible critters if you ask me.
Impossible to type on.

I've been looking for a numpad-less keyboard, as I don't use it anyway. Only
takes up desk space. If it weren't for the fact that these "Happy Hacking"
keyboards are a bit over the top, and very expensive at that, I would consider
those. But I don't like the fact how they've hidden the function keys under
the number keys.
