Mark,
I love the idea, and agree wholeheartedly! While I enjoy using my
Falcon more than any other system, I do agree that there are a lot more
desktop features that I'd like to see added, most of which you
mentioned. And since Thing and Jinnee obviously aren't very active
projects, and the whole concept behind Teradesk is a simple TOS-like
desktop with multitasking-friendly features rather than a full-blown
modern one like you (and I) want, your option is the only one left, as
far as I can see.
I know from the posts so far that a lot of people here seem to be
content with what's out there. This worries me a bit. Whenever most
people are content with what's there, nothing new happens. When nothing
new happens, things get more and more stale, old, and far behind other
platforms. By the time we wake up and see the need to modernize, we're
so far behind that it'll take an even more monumental undertaking than
if we'd started now. This is just my opinion, of course, but if you
think about it, isn't it true?
Unfortunately, I can't help much from a programming aspect (as I'm
not a programmer), but I'll do what I can. Hopefully we'll actually get
some people on board with this!
